Edge 1030 (v7.5) syncing problem

Maybe I found another issue after 7.5 update.

I have a Garmin Fenix 5, an Edge 1030 and Vector 3.

Above all with Garmin Fenix 5 and Edge 1030 at the end of the activity when they start to synchronize I have synchronization problem.

Many times I get message "Device is busy", or things like that.

And many times I need to restart Garmin Connect on iOS after one device sync, because the other one stops to sync.

I don't mention Vector 3 because if I pair them with Garmin Connect I have other problems while I'm riding with my phone.

During the day, while I wear only the Fenix 5, I have no issue, and everything works fine.

  • Yes I tried it, but it's always the same.

    And the devices works, but when they work "toghether" I have problems.

  • strange, from my Edge 1030 i get often a disconnect/connect message on Andorid GCM, business as usual with edge, but it works the most time when you try it again, my Fenix 5 is mostly connected correctly, their i haven't the problems.

    other things you could try, if possible, to use a different phone or a tablet, iOS or Android, so you can see, if it is a iOS GCM problem or a problem of your phone directly

  • Today, I don't know if it is relevant, I had no issue with sync and live track during my ride. First time since I've updated to 7.5

    This is what I did:

    1. I disabled WI-FI on iPhone
    2. I turn on Edge 1030
    3. I forgot to home my hearth rate sensor so I used my Fenix 5 in hearth rate broadcast mode
    4. Live track worked well during the entire ride (1 hour and 30 minute ride)
    5. I come back home and everything synched well

    BUT

    Once I turned on WI-FI another time Garmin Connect stops to work. For example when I try to access the Training Status page the it show only the "loading icon" (the little man running). I had to restart Garmin Connect only and another time it restart to work.

    All other application on iOS (Strava, Facebook, Messages, ...) works well without need to be restarted, and all other bluetooth device works well another time without need to be restarted.

  • Hi LeeJones, the thread is 3 years old. I remember that after a firmware upgrade the issue disappeared. I don't know if there is another problem today.
