Edge 1030 (v7.5) syncing problem

Maybe I found another issue after 7.5 update.

I have a Garmin Fenix 5, an Edge 1030 and Vector 3.

Above all with Garmin Fenix 5 and Edge 1030 at the end of the activity when they start to synchronize I have synchronization problem.

Many times I get message "Device is busy", or things like that.

And many times I need to restart Garmin Connect on iOS after one device sync, because the other one stops to sync.

I don't mention Vector 3 because if I pair them with Garmin Connect I have other problems while I'm riding with my phone.

During the day, while I wear only the Fenix 5, I have no issue, and everything works fine.

  • don't connect vector 3 with phone, that isn't working never ever, don't use Bluetooth of your Vectors, only ANT+ on Edge, there you can configure everything you want and of course, it's the only way that works!

  • And how can I upgrade the software without phone?

  • with your edge, when the BLT vector on Edge is connected you can go to device, check software version, crank length and of course update if a new firmware is released!

    forget the BLT, it's not working and eat the battery of your vector!

    IMPORTANT: when you search on Edge for new ANT+ devices, there will be found 2 different vectors, one with BLT and one with ANT+, only connect the ANT+

  • Many times I get message "Device is busy", or things like that.

    think this happens only, when the connect servers are busy, happens for me ~1 time a week, thats normal, business as usual for GarminJoy

  • I'm sure there are problems with Garmin Connect, too many time I need to restart the app on iOS after I synced both the devices (Fenix 5 and Edge 1030). As I restart the app immediately the device that stopped to sync restart to work!

  • This is what happens many times as I turn on my Edge 1030, 5 second before Fenix works perfect.

    Then I can sync my Edge 1030, and I have to turn it off.

    Then I can quit and restart Garmin Connect on iOS and in that way Fenix restart to be able to sync.

  • what message you get, when you press on the red "i", think there is a more detailed message behind?

  • Sometimes "Device is busy", other times "Synchronization failure, Err connecting to device".

    But I repeat, as

    1. I turn off one if the two devices
    2. and I restart Garmin Connect iOS

    then the other one device restart to sync. And its the same for both devices.

    Other note, its very very slow to sync, even if I have a 100MBit bandwith!

    And just to show I easy is to reproduce it, as I read your message I've turned on both the devices and I take the screenshot for you.

  • Now for example I've turned off the Edge, I've restarted the Garmin Connect and everything works great, even for the entire day!

  • i haven't experience on iOS, you tried following?

    i have done it in the past on Android:

    1) uninstall Garmin Connect

    2) remove all your related Bluetooth devices on your mobile phone himself

    3) restart phone afterwards (very important)

    4) install Garmin Connect and pair one device, if it works the second....
