Have you REALLY read the reviews? Most of the new features (except TrailForks) are planned for the 1030 with a firmware update.
I have a preorder on 830 (or maybe I can swap my 1030 to an 830 from Garmin support? I asked them that and are waiting for their reply).

This reminds me of Samuel Johnson's quip about second marriages being a triumph of hope over experience. I've never replaced an old Garmin unit with a new one that wasn't just as buggy as the one it replaced...
I really don't understand your issues besides Livetrack (overrated gimmick feature IMO) and BT issues. All my sensors worked flawlessly from day 1. This includes several HRM, powermeters, speedsensors and cadence sensors and Di2. All Ant+. It seems to me that you have a faulty unit with ANT+ issues.
If not - Wahoo it is.
I am like you ... I find it inadmissible not to have the same data as a model below. Garminb said he would do an update but when? in 2022 ?? when the edge 1040 will be released ...
