Anyone using Edge Remote with the 1030?

Just came across the Edge Remote while searching for something else and wondered if it works with the 1030?

    Can Shawn-Garmin provide any type of meaningful update on this?
    Has there been ANY headway in the past year???

    Can you provide some insight into what the issues are with the remote. I do a lot of interval training and use the remote a lot. Unfortunately, this means that I cannot connect my phone and cannot use all of the great features that the 1030 provides. The remote works fine when my phone is not connected to the 1030.

    Garmin has been working for many, many months on this issue. Some insight into the challenges you are facing in solving the issue would be greatly appreciated.
  • I used Garmin Remote and found it very convenient, especially on a steep decent. Unfortunately it keeps disconnecting without a reason. At some point I gave up - you never know if it will work or not. So better not rely on it.

    I just got a 1030 and have this problem. I see Garmin has done nothing about it since I have the latest firmware. I actually don't mind disconnecting the phone since I don't answer it when riding and if I turn the Bluetooth back on before saving the ride it uploads
  • I had no problem with edge 1000. but edge 1030 is losing signal with remote without exception on every ride. it isvery annoying especially during interval training. i am using latest firmware 6.0

    The known issue is precisely when a phone is connected. If your phone is not connected it should work fine. Now most people use a live feature or another hence keep their phone connected.

    I can confirm that we are continuing to work on this and have run into issues with diagnosing the exact cause, even with additional logging that we have created. This has been escalated for over a year and we have been able to share very little in the way of progress. But I can confirm that this is still receiving active attention and I hope to have a more concrete update or, even better, a timeline for a resolution that I can share.

    This issue has been around for a while so it happened with many different configurations. Anyhow for me I currently have an iPhone XS with iOS12.1 and I have the issue. But I also had the same issue previously with my iPhone 6S and iOS 11.. So on the Apple side of things it seems to be generalized. I have no idea for Android.
