Anyone using Edge Remote with the 1030?

Just came across the Edge Remote while searching for something else and wondered if it works with the 1030?

I use it all the time. It used to be buggy but they finally fixed it about 6 months ago. It now works reliable. And it is a very useful accessory. Works in the rain, works with gloves, customizable buttons…

I know, it is super useful. That's why I am getting frustrated by the connectivity issues.

Thanks for the feedback so far! Seems like I am having an individual problem here...

I do on my indoor bike.

At the moment, Edge remote only works occasionally. But I think within time it'll work just as fine as with Edge 1000

Yes and it SUCKS!!! I had zero problems with it on my 1000 then I got the 1030 and it never stays connected. A firmware fix would be nice to fix this problem but it seems as if garmin doesn't really care that their own hardware doesn't work correctly.

Big problems!

Description:
Remote connects without problems at the beginning of the ride.
Randomly after a short or longer while, it does not function anymore.
(I found no pattern for causing this disfunction...)
The red LED is flashing.
When you go to the pull-down menu, the Edge states: all sensors are connected (remote as well) - does not blink.
If you press the "reconnect-button" on the pull-down menu, a message appears: All sensors are connected! No reconnection possible/neccesary.

But after a while the remote-icon begins to blink. Now the remote has disconnected.
A new connection still is not possible - the red LED flashes.
One has to go the the sensor-page, disable it, re-enable it and then reconnect.

And then it works for another while - short or longer, but never keeps stable!

ANNOYING!!

My Edge 1030 does not have a general problem with sensors.
All the others (Wahoo-HR, Germin-Speed, Stages-Power) keep connected all the time - my iPhone 6s as well!
It's only the remote!

I use the garmin remote and with 3.50 it loses the connection.

Lately It loses connection on my Edge 820 as well, that's not specific to 1030... You have 3 states. 1 it's working fine you flip form one screen to the next. 2 It's sleeping, need one tap to wake up the next one to flip (you still have the green led). And last It stops working, you get the red led. You wait for a while and it starts working again..... Is it worth it to disable > Enable on the sensor page? No I am just using my gloved finger and continue to enjoy my ride.

Edge 1030 and Firm. 3.50 = very buggy Edge Remote connection...., drops, lag, etc

It's very frustrating, you lose the connection constantly. Is Garmin working on it?

Very frustrating, indeed.
Come on, Garmin, fix this problem!
The red led blinking is annoying.

Apologies for not reaching out to this thread sooner. We have reported the concerns you have mentioned here with the remote not staying connected and are researching the issue.
