Got mine

All set up and ready to take it out on its first ride. Set up was pretty easy. The only thing I didn't find was the sensor for my Tanita scale. Hope that didn't get left out.

Try this. Place it in the Garmin\NewFiles folder on the 1030.

Success! Both profile and device totals are in place! I cannot thank you enough for your time and assistance.

I'm looking forward to an improved display for aging eyes. Will reserve my opinion on the new fluff they've added until I have checked it all out.

what do you think about the screen? Got mine today and the screen appears darker than the 1000 in manual mode at 100%. haven't tried it outside on a ride yet, maybe it shows up better in sunlight. Was hoping for a screen closer to smartphone brightness.

It definitely looks better under sunlight than artificial light. I think you will find that is much better than the screen on the Edge 1000.

I downloaded a tcx map course (Shenandoah 100) from Ride with GPS, which didn't have cues, I think. Every now and then 1030 showed an black screen with some centered text like "Custom 1" and some more text. Anybody know what this is? Maybe something from the tcx file?

Those would be course points that were contained in the tcx file.
