Got mine

All set up and ready to take it out on its first ride. Set up was pretty easy. The only thing I didn't find was the sensor for my Tanita scale. Hope that didn't get left out.
  • Really? You got one already? Where are you based and where did you get it from. By the way, I don't think Tanita support has been in any recent device but I believe there is a CIQ app
  • He's the CIQ app, but it hasn't been ported to the 1030 yet. It might be a couple days for the SDK with 1030 support to be released, as which time developers can add support for the 1030. But I just noticed it doesn't support any Edge device right now, only watches. In the app store, you can use "Contact Developer" to let the developer know if you're interested in the app.

  • Biketiresdirect.com in Portland OR has them in stock with free shipping. Picked mine up around 9;30 this morning
  • Ditto. Mine will be here this Thursday, 8/31. And perfect timing too -- the power button on my 1000 broke 10 days ago after 2.5 yrs., 700 rides snd 27,000+ miles.

Is it a big improvement over the edge 1000?

  • I've done just a couple shorts rides with it so far but I must say the screen is so much easier to read than the 1000. Nothing really bad to say yet. It just is a pain to set up my bikes and sensors again and adjust the screens to the data I want. Think it was money well spent. Looking forward for the Vector 3's to come out.

Why didn't you back up/transfer your files from your 1000? No need to set up your profiles/settings/sensors/screens, etc. manually.

I'll know tomorrow when it arrives. ;). Important to me is improved (so said) navigation and battery life. I ride centuries frequently and use TBT regularly. Battery life on the 1000 is disgraceful and requires carrying a "lipstick" USB charger for such rides. I'm looking forward to an improved display for aging eyes. Will reserve my opinion on the new fluff they've added until I have checked it all out.
  • Mine is on it's way from Clever Training by way of Fedex smartpost. ETA next Friday.

The 1030 uses different screen configurations because of the custom lap banner and new segment page. You will hit issues if you try and import settings and profile from another Edge model.
