Swim 2 is almost 4 years old now.
Is it expected Garmin Swim 3 to be released soon ?
Is there any info about that?
We wait for such device with new hardware and improved accuracy and functionality.

To be honest I love Swim 2 and it is great device, one of the best for swimming.
But there are many things to be fixed/improved and some new functionalities related to swimming to be added.
But the main…
New rumours??
I've been wanting to upgrade from the Swim 2 for a while, to get some of the newer features like SpO2, VO2 max, HRV, training stats, upgraded sleep scores and a whole bunch of the smartwatch features…
You know the speed or pace settings for the endless pool. Do the math, you can easily measure the time.
distance=speedXtime=(time/pace)X100
If I'm not mistaken.
Also open water function with GPS turned off gives a rough estimation I think.
Yes, the formula is correct:
Distance = Speed × Time
Ensure Units are Consistent:
Convert the speed into kilometers per minute (km/min) or meters per second (m/s) depending on your preferred unit for distance.
Convert the swimming time into hours, minutes, or seconds, corresponding to the speed unit.
For Example:
Given:
Endless pool current Speed: 3 km/h
Swimming Time: 30 minutes
Steps:
Convert time to hours:
30 minutes = 0.5hours (30/60)
Apply the formula:
Distance = 3km/h × 0.5 hours = 1.5km
General Conversion Factors:
1 hour = 60 minutes
1 km/h = 1000 m / 3600 s = 0.2778 m/s
Ehhh this Math :)))))
garmin swim 2 is 4 years old and there is no rumors about a garmin swim 3, so, which is now the best sportwatch (garmin or other) only for swimming purpose?
I think garmin swim 2 is outdated in terms of accuracy of the heart sensor, swimming features... or for swimming is it still the most accurate and complete?
Thanks
garmin swim 2 is 4 years old
5 years old, actually.

Garmin swim2 is not able, but is any other garmin able to get vo2max during swimming?

I haven't tested it but I am sceptical about accuracy of measuring VO2max in the water using a watch ...
Go running (with GPS) or cycling to measure it more accurately.
Interesting discussion. I am using the Forerunner 965 for swimming and it offers open water swimming, drill mode and lets me create my own trainings for swimming. This is really helpfull.
Recently Garmin added a new Garmin coach for strength training. And I like it very much. I also often used the Garmin coach for running and it helped me to improve my race times.
So I really miss a Garmin coach for swimming or at least some training plans to prepare for a swimming race.
This would be my very best new feature of any new Garmin watch.
Regards.
New Vivoactive 6 has been presented. Wanting to buy the best garmin dedicated to swimming NOW, is this such vivoactive6 the best in your opinion? or is the swim 2 still confirmed even if it is old?
Touchscreen is a big no-no in the water. At least for me. I do not know about its other capabilities. I would say either Swim2, or some newer Forerunner, but let the touchscreen only gadgets for kids
but vivoactive6 has 2 buttons, am I wrong?
