I made a new course with the new time gate option. On garmin connect i see the purple km marks and have enabled the switch. I ran the course but i didn’t get any km lap

i choose run > navigation > do course > Tijdpoort test (which is the name of the course) and start.
any settings i forgot?

Did a test again today. Made a new course in Garmin Connect. Timing gates enabled, loaded the course and did the run activity but no succes. 
have a race coming up soon and want to use this feature but can’t get it to work.
Did a test today as Garmin - AL described how to do this but again no luck again.

Am i overseeing something.
Yet another example of timing gates not working on my 970. Removed all courses from my watch. Switched off my 970. Made an event Parkrun on garmin connect web. Ran the Parkrun with navigating the course. But no timing gates 
the eventpage (first picture) says that this course is using timing gates. I started my run at the exact location where the course is starting, i run this course frequently.
