How to enable the timing gates autolap?

I made a new course with the new time gate option. On garmin connect i see the purple km marks and have enabled the switch. I ran the course but i didn’t get any km lap

i choose run > navigation > do course > Tijdpoort test (which is the name of the course) and start.

any settings i forgot?

Did a test again today. Made a new course in Garmin Connect. Timing gates enabled, loaded the course and did the run activity but no succes.

have a race coming up soon and want to use this feature but can’t get it to work.

I advise removing all courses that are installed on the device, and power the watch off and back on. Send the course back to your device, then test.

Did a test today as Garmin - AL described how to do this but again no luck again.
