All voice prompts stopped working on 970

Sometime in the last week, I stopped getting any voice prompts at all when listening for them on my connected phone. If I change the audio output to my watch's speaker, I seem to still get them on the watch. This is different from the previous issue I reported where some repeating audio prompts are no longer working from either audio output source after update to 12.72 firmware. This new issue appears like it could be an issue with the Garmin Connect app. But I haven't been able to rule out the watch at this point either. It does seem that restarting the Garmin Connect app (and maybe my phones Bluetooth connection as well) in the middle of my activity solves the problem temporarily. (Which is highly inconvenient.) But after I start another activity the next day, we're right back where we started with the voice prompts not working again.

    This happens to me too, sometimes I used to solve it by going to controls and disconnect the phone and reconnect it but lately it does not work it works only by restarting my phone and if this does not work then I go into Garmin connect app and click on the 970 icon (top right corner) and re-sync.
    This is very frustrating during a jog/run activity. Garmin should concentrate on fixing bugs (which are a lot already) on this device before any attempt to introduce new features, which adds new bugs with the existing Frowning2 . For me this was a very expensive purchase!

    Agreed. They should spend some cycles just fixing what's already there.

    Also same here... this was a very expensive purchase for me as well. And given the price, I was expecting things to be quite a bit better tested and polished. The past few months with this watch have been very disappointing to say the least.

     Try to roll back garmin connect (android) to V5.16, create a run workout with the desired voice alerts like HR or Lap alerts, they are working on my phone or headphones. you can also check Voice Alerts.

    Voice prompts are just a hot mess on my 970 also - 12.72. I did a half-marathon this past weekend. The voice prompts for HR range was set and started working but then stopped for no apparent reason about 5 miles in to the race. I have basically given up on this feature as its just not reliable. The feature was more reliable on my older Forerunner.
