So many bugs.
So many issues.
So little information and updates.
What is going on?
Is the expectation we just return them and wait for the 975?

Clearly Garmin doesn't care, too big to fail, people will buy anyway. Today I woke up late, seems that watch froze at 8.23am but when I checked my phone it was 9.09 am, industry in general started pushing…
100% this.
I work in software. We have a release schedule. But if one of my times borks prod it gets fixed immediately. Not at our leisure.
That being said we also test our software before releasing.
Have been using 970 for a month now. Got a defective piece where it used to occasionally ghost touch and start actinf on own as of pocesssed.
connected with garmin support and they sent a brand new replacement .
no issues since 3 weeks now. Already completed running 50+ miles in it and several strength training.
Has Garmin stated that there is a quarterly cycle?
They just released a V6.18, it's basically a hotfix to reduce ghost touches.
One single fix in 6.18... I'd heard Garmin had poor product support, but that's laughable
Aged like milk. Garmin made an update public 12 hours ago.
I've never read changelog so long ... this 6.18 version after a month is MASSIVE!
And it does fix the issue I've never had (luckly).
I think this is all normal for Garmin. I'm sure my old 955 went along a similar route to the 970, released with new features but nothing much after until the likes of the Fènix line caught up, and even overtook. Glad to see 6.18 working well so far and eliminating the ghost touches
5 weeks to release one hot fix when multiple major issues exist. Pretty poor. I sent mine back. I will stick with my Epix Pro which has been really solid. But will probably be my last Garmin. They are trying to do too much with these watches now. The only thing I would only Epix which is why I bought the 970 is the brightness of the display and a more modern UI.
