Switch directly from a free workout to the suggested workout from Garmin Coach?

Hello,

Is there a way to switch directly from a free workout to the suggested workout from Garmin Coach?

So, you start the free workout by pressing the start button. After maybe 20 minutes, you switch to the workout from Garmin Coach.

The idea is that the recording is saved as a single, continuous workout at the end.

The warm-up duration in Coach is much too short. I would like to extend it using this method.

With the Edge 840, it's possible to start a free workout and then switch to the home page during the workout and then start the Coach workout from there.

  • I have a Forerunner 965. The same thing happens to me. I wrote a post months ago, and there was no solution. It happens not only with workouts, but also with routes. If I change a workout or route, it forces me to stop the activity and start a new one. This doesn't happen with the Edge 130 Plus, which allows me to change workouts or routes within the same activity without forcing me to start a different one.

I hope this feature is incorporated into the FR965, because it's a superior device to the Edge 130, and a very useful feature because many times during a route or training, changes are required, but it's better to record them in a single activity.
  • I have often changed routes in mid-activity on my 965 by long-pressing up and selecting "Stop navigation" and then again "Navigate" from the menu. Cannot change workouts in mid-activity, though.
