Turn alerts without switching to the map screen?

I'd love it if you could check. I've tried several courses, both a gpx via GC and created on the watch and both switch to the map on turn alert which I can't stop

Hi. I tested it today. Strangely when it started the first notification of a turn it took to map screen . I don't recall it doing that before. Anyway I then went back to my preferred data screen and after that it worked fine and just showed me the arrow at the base of the screen I was on and didn't go to map screen again it was a 20k route with many turns.  Of course we still cannot stop the voice directions now but thats another issue which one has just adapted to.

Interesting, thanks for testing. Was this an imported gpx route via GC or created on the watch? Was it a run or other activity? I'm trying it again today

I've just tried it today doing a run, walk, and 'navigation' and all kept returning to the map screen at every turn, super annoying, especially with an amoled screen this wastes so much battery.

Thanks. Maybe I'm missing something as I did the same. It's a new 965 so I haven't changed much, but clearly something isn't right on my setup

Can't think of anything I changed regarding navigation , but one can never be sure

Thanks for checking. Super annoying for me but looks like others aren't affected so I'll have to live with it.

have you tried to reset defaults on the individual activity settings
