Turn alerts without switching to the map screen?

Is this possible? I'm sure I've seen a video of the 7x navigating while on a date field screen and receiving a turn alert as a small toast/popup direction arrow at the bottom of the screen but it stayed on the data field screen.

It's super annoying having it switch to the map screen every single turn when I have data fields for turns on and just want the small turn arrow popping up

I'd love it if you could check. I've tried several courses, both a gpx via GC and created on the watch and both switch to the map on turn alert which I can't stop

I'm pretty sure I get them like that when I have a course loaded. I'll check it next time I use a course.

Hi. I tested it today. Strangely when it started the first notification of a turn it took to map screen . I don't recall it doing that before. Anyway I then went back to my preferred data screen and after that it worked fine and just showed me the arrow at the base of the screen I was on and didn't go to map screen again it was a 20k route with many turns. Of course we still cannot stop the voice directions now but thats another issue which one has just adapted to.

Interesting, thanks for testing. Was this an imported gpx route via GC or created on the watch? Was it a run or other activity? I'm trying it again today

I've just tried it today doing a run, walk, and 'navigation' and all kept returning to the map screen at every turn, super annoying, especially with an amoled screen this wastes so much battery.

It was run activity

I created a route and imported into GC web portal

Thanks. Maybe I'm missing something as I did the same. It's a new 965 so I haven't changed much, but clearly something isn't right on my setup

Can't think of anything I changed regarding navigation , but one can never be sure

have you tried to reset defaults on the individual activity settings
