Forerunner 965 - elevation errors

Hi all, my Forerunner 965 has recently started to record wildly incorrect elevation data on runs - see example in attached image on 7k run today and correct elevation data after fixing in Strava.

I have calibrated the altimeter several times, including just before runs, but the issue continues.

I've seen in posts that others have had a similar issue, but not sure if it is a component failure, or recent software failure?

Anyone else having the same issue - and any tips to resolve?

Thank you in advance.

  • I'll chime in as mine has been like this from day one, no replies from garmin, several bugs posted, no fix. Virtually all my runs start ok then get more and more wild in the altitude swings before ending up several hundred feet below where I started at the start point. I'm message Garmin, tagged staff here, and nothing.

  • The 1st graph also looks like GRMN stock after the paid subscription...

  • I have the same problem,it will change anytime even if I am sleeping and it's still occurs for many FW

  • I am experiencing something similar... even worse: on my typical 8km run with 160 elevation gaing I have seen the following results lately: 1,150; 980, 743. I beleive power is calculated after the elvation change so, also power data are totally wrong.

  • On mine run today - garmin: 157 meters; Strava (after corretion): 68 metres.

  • Mine just started to since the update that loaded 2 weeks ago.  Activity summary correctly records the total change in elevation, but the graph and detail analytics show 0 - initially just up, but now up and down.  I’ve tried re-calibrating the altimeter, but it seems to be working just fine.

  • ya envié correo a Garmin y pasa lo mismo 965 desde hace más de una semana , seguí los pasos que me indica probables fallas y No mejoro sigue igual
