Turn off these messages

My watch is suddenly giving me messages that I never asked for. For example, this morning it said that my recovery time was extended because of high level of activity I had this morning. Not only is it ridiculously wrong (I’ve been watching TV all morning ) but I did not ask for this.
Why are updates overwriting my settings and how do I turn these messages off?

  • Can anyone help with this? I’m sure it’s some kind of AI “smart” function that Garmin wants to force on me but I don’t want to be interrupted by my watch to hear that my recovery is two hours longer because it miscalculated my activity levels.

I have gone through every setting on this watch and I can’t find a way to turn this off.

  • Actually people have been complaining about this kind of "recovery advisor" notification for years.

    e.g.

Unfortunately I don't think there's a way to turn the notifications off.

If you're suddenly seeing them, and they don't match up to your actual training (as you said), it could be a change (bug?) with the algorithm itself.

  • Never really had any erronous messages that I can recall , usually seem on point.  But at the very least I would give it a reset, (upper left button for 35seconds until it goes black, ignore Emergency alert... keep holding until blank)  Then turn it back on and sync with GC.

Do you wear your watch 24/7 for the most part so it can learn your HRV data over an extended period?  Does HRV Status & BodyBattery seem to match your training, sleeping, stress, booze intake level ?
