Hello, dear forum members!
I’ve encountered an issue and would appreciate your advice. I recently purchased a Forerunner 965, and initially, everything worked perfectly. I primarily do strength training and occasionally run. During the first week, the heart rate readings were accurate: during sets, my heart rate was around 140–160 bpm, and after resting for 1–2 minutes, it gradually dropped to about 120 bpm, at which point I started my next set.
However, strange things started happening after that:
- During sets, my heart rate often shows 80–100 bpm, which is clearly too low.
- After a set, sometimes the heart rate increases, but other times it doesn’t change.
- While resting, my heart rate occasionally drops to 70 bpm, even though I know it’s at least 120 bpm.
Here’s what I’ve tried so far:
- Adjusting the watch position on my wrist (wearing it higher/lower, tightening/loosening the strap).
- Restarting the watch (I read that it sometimes helps).
- Cleaning the back of the watch regularly to avoid dirt or debris.
An interesting observation: when I move the watch on my wrist, the heart rate reading can increase by 1.5 times. For instance, if it shows 80 bpm, moving it higher on my wrist and tightening the strap often results in 130 bpm within a few minutes.
The watch hasn’t been dropped or hit. I suspect this issue might have started after a software update, but I’m not entirely sure.
Has anyone experienced something similar? Any advice on how to fix this would be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance!
