My Forerunner 965 has my Triathlon race saved on the watch but when I try to sync it to Connect it says the there is an error with the upload. Any ideas it was my first 70.3 Ironman and I would really like it in Connect.

Connect your watch to  a PC/Mac , take the activity fit file down and upload to Connect

If you use a Mac you need to use android file manager app on the Mac

I am using a PC, when I try to upload the fit file to connect it says an error occurred with your upload please try again.  I have tried it several times no change. 

Ok Someone will have to help you fix the file. I see there are a few people on these forums who do a helpful job with corrupt files.

So I was able to get the 3 activities and 2 transitions put into individual strava activities and then sent it back to Garmin connect as their individual activities.  Is there a way to add them all together into a multisport?

Unfortunately I do not know. Maybe that chap on the post i referenced can help you. I see he often helps people with fit file issues
