I'd love that!
I saw it's possible to use a T9 keyboard on Garmin Messenger. That should be 'easy" to also implement it for SMS.
I think it's a good thing.

Was surprised to see this option available with the update that got pushed a few weeks ago...can't find any discussion of this ?
Yes, it was added in 22.22 I think. And I guess the lack of discussion shows how many people are actually using the feature...
Yes, I tried it with my Forerunner 965 to reply on a FB Messenger notification.
The keyboard was OK, not very practical though. When I validated the message to send it, it crashed the watch which rebooted itself
I wouldn't take this forum as a representation of the whole userbase.
I have Garmin devices for years and just took notice of this forum some months ago, specifically for this thread.
Finally its possible to do it, and the new function works very well and is very useful and with the latest update the related bugs have disappeared.
I use it a lot and works well. Next steps should be:
1-Let the user opt for a T9 or QWERTY keyboard.
2-Invoke the keyboard reply in a button right below the message without having to click 5 times to get there.
