965 Setting transfer to replacement

Having to send my 965 back for a replacement and worried about losing all my setting, data screens etc. Can I transfer settings from old watch to new?

I also made list (in excel) of my glances and sports and the order they are so its easier to set up again.

Question, where are you based and did they give you the offer of getting one sent to you against a deposit so you don't have to have a gap in between? deposit refunded on receiving your return.

no chance I'm afraid - the backup/restore simply doesn't really work on the 965, as noted by so many resetting their watches trying to fix bugs and having to set everything up again. take pics, or screenshots of any you need

The ourdoorsy development team implemented backup and restore for the fenix/epix series some time ago.

So far, garmin refuses to implement this basic feature for the forerunner line.

Is it not available on any Forerunner? ffs if so. I know they need product differentiation but for bug fixing and testing new builds with devices with this many issues it's really poor form, especially as we can't drop an old firmware back in and fix whatever Garmin has broken in the latest release.

You can do a lot I do it as I noted in the post below . All your screen settings etc can be copied …. That helps a lot .. not a backup and restore for sure but activity screens take a lot of setting up vs the rest of the stuff ..
