Skiing: double counting runs

First day skiing with the new 965 yesterday. During the day it counted each run twice. The running tally while recording the session was twice the number of runs actually skied. Now that the activity uploaded, Connect is reporting the correct number of runs but the exported data to Strava shows double. Looking at the GPS and elevation data you can clearly count the correct number of runs... @Garmin please take a look at these issues.

  • No please! Did you change something of the default settings?

  • So I made my test today with 18.12. again I'm disappointed by the way it has been "fixed". The fix is only a partial fix, on the watch the distance was ok unless I've saved it; after that, the distance jumped from 40 km to 68, that's the total distance including also lifts. Number of runs is ok tho. Strava is reporting wrong distance, but connect the right one. To recap:

    1) runs ok both on watch and connect or Strava.

2 distance on watch NOT OK

    3 distance in connect OK

4 distance in Strava NOT OK.

Still unbelievable how's possible there's no way to fix this in a definitive way... I'm sure Garmin guys are putting all their efforts on this but still, not able to fix it.... So sad Cry

please don't consider this bug fixed because it's not... Don't give up to find a solution!

  • How hard can it be to fix this? The snowboard activity worked perfectly on the 945, just cut and paste that code to the 965.

  • I know...that's very frustrating... I had a 945 as well...and it was perfect....

  • Surprisingly today I've received a new beta build, 18.15. I went this morning on the slopes with a little hope sitting somewhere in my heart... Unfortunately the watch behaviour is exactly how it wSobas yesterday, so we still have an open bug... SobSobSob

  • Exact, tried 18.15 still not resolved.

  • I tried it last Saturday (18.12) with default settings (autolap on, autopause off).
It worked very well I have to say, the only issue I spotted was that the distance on the watch was completely off (99km) while after the upload to Connect it appeared correctly (~60km). GPS lift/downhill seems also correct.

I don't understand why the watch displays it the wrong way, though. I don't use Strava so I cannot confirm issues there.

  • What you have described is exactly what's happening to all of us. Watch distance is wrong as well as Strava distance. Connect mobile is ok tho.

  • All,

Thank you very much for your participation on this topic and the information you've provided so far. Please answer the following so I can bring this to our attention (sorry if you're repeating yourself):

    1. Did 18.15 make any type of difference in your ski activities?
    2. Are the ski runs still being counted twice on the watch?
    3. Are there any other on-going /new issues with Ski activities?
    4. If necessary, may I have permission to reach a couple of you via email?
  • Hi,

    1. No differences from 18.12

    2. Runs are ok but it was ok also in 18.12

    3. Distances are still counting lifts in the watch (I mean in the activity I can see in activity history in the watch) and in Strava

    4. Yes, you can reach out me via email.
