Backup/restore activity profiles

Hello all,
Today I decided to give a good old reset to my garmin devices (1040 solar and 965) given that I already flashed a couple of firmwares and was having some little issues.
With the 1040 solar all went well and a couple of seconds later I had my old actiivty profiles on it.
With the 965 I had to do everything by hand. Is this still normal?

If garmin was a bit smarter with software development and get rid of the different software development teams and use 1 uniform OS for all their watches this wouldn’t be a problem at all.

Settings backup and restore was added to the fenix/epix series in the previous firmware.

For reasons beyond comprehension, garmin decided 965 doesn’t need backup and restore (although they do recommend a factory reset for “fixing” the save locationpoint bug). Garmin-Sierra why is this?

I’m pretty sure they’ve never stated that the 965 “doesn’t need” any specific features. It just doesn’t have it, but maybe one day it will.

We pay good money and get mediocre software in return.
