Bug: after syncing a course to my 965, all courses are duplicated on my watch

I have all the latest software version on my watch and iPhone.

I send 1 new course to my watch and on my watch, all courses from garmin connect are twice on my watch. The new course is also twice on my watch.

(garmin, please please pleade stop adding useless features, like endurance score, and start focusing on software quality. It is so needed. There are so many bugs in your firmware)

it's been doing this on my fenix since last winter. they also become duplicated in my garmin connect app. and when i delete them, they immediately reappear. getting them off the watch is a painstaking process, and as soon as it syncs, it all comes back again... filling up the device's storage

Elbo, I was unable to reproduce on my 965. Can you confirm whether or not this happens on your new 965?

Garmin-Sierra How did you try to reproduce it?

It’s my experience that syncing with garmin express on a Mac causes all sorts of problems. Not only routes could be synced twice, also when there is an update of an app, glances are messed up.

Syncing with garmin explore on an iPhone causes existing routes on the watch to disappear.

I created a few courses in the Connect app and sent them to the device. I will try it out with Garmin Express and see if I can get my hands on a MAC. May I have permission to reach you via email to gather your Garmin Express logs and a few pictures?

Garmin-Sierra you may email me. I cannot provide pictures, since I have a different 965 now. And I’m planning to avoid garmin express and garmin explore as much as possible. I just spend a lot of time reconfiguring.

Also note: like me, most people here on the forum did already quite a few updates, including beta versions. Maybe updates don’t always clean up everything. (And for me an other reason to avoid new beta testing)

Having the same issue and it's extreme annoying ... especially because the software does not allow to easily select several/all courses to delete. Instead it forces you to start an activity, go to navigation, load the coarse, and delete it ... (great job ...)

Anyone having a solution to this issue?

Not as solution to the issue , but you can delete a course by accessing the device drive via PC/Mac and delete it there.

Do you have MAC , if so you need Android file transfer (its in the Mac app store), if windows then you dont need anything additional.

Connect watch to computer. If Mac , open Android File transfer and it will open the device drive like a fiinder window. If Windows just find the device in explorer.

Look for the folder courses and delete the courses in there. This should delete them from the device.

I generally do a soft restart after I do something like this. (hold in light button until watch fully shuts down , then after say 15s restart it)
