Forerunner 965... A big mistake buying it.

Hello, after buying the 965 (4.19) I found a lot of issues that is making me regret of buying it.

- In the treadmill, I put a 265s with the 965, 265s was giving good heart rate reading compared with my Polar H10, but the 965 was really off... The video in the attachment

- In the pool, when I swim 50 mts, the 965 shows 100mts and I didn't find a way to correct this...

- The stress measure sometimes totally stops, I see -- instead of a measurement...

Seems the best of the best watches are the Apple ones with bad battery of course, but I have Android so no way to but the Apple.

After watching a Youtube video here:

I'm more upset of buying this thing... You need a Fitbit for tracking sleeping and for heart rate the Huawei.

This watch has bad bad hardware or the software is so buggy that Garmin should not be selling it... very very disappointed...

  • Well well, a influencer with a lot of goodwill from Garmin is not my first choise as a reference.

  • And a troll on an internet forum with a clear agenda is not someone I would get behind either. Look at the vide they posted...can you tell me that is a fair test...look at the user guides and tell me where they suggest you wear the watch during activities, then come back to me...

  • You're welcome :-)

Tips for Erratic Heart Rate Data
If the heart rate data is erratic or does not appear, you can try these tips.
    • Clean and dry your arm before putting on the watch.
    • Avoid wearing sunscreen, lotion, and insect repellent under the watch.
    • Avoid scratching the heart rate sensor on the back of the watch.
Wear the watch above your wrist bone. The watch should be snug but comfortable.
    • Wait until the icon is solid before starting your activity.
    • Warm up for 5 to 10 minutes and get a heart rate reading before starting your activity.
NOTE: In cold environments, warm up indoors.
    • Rinse the watch with fresh water after each workout.

All was done, if the problem was  bad fit I should be experiencing the same issue with my 955, something I don't have when I don't move the arm, besides that the issues in the swimming pool has nothing to do with that or the bad refresh rates, etc... Garmin should retire the 956 from the market, when they resolve all the software issues and test the watch till pass their quality assurance (non existent yet), since then they can sell this watch, otherwise stick with the 955 and try not to move the arm or if you need to, use a strap like the Polar H10.

  • Lol, retire from the market. You got these issues it's not that everyone has them but because you got them they should pull it from the market? Hahahaha, dude maybe contact their support instead of whatever you try to achieve here, people are not convinced, get it?

  • So tell me, do you wear two watches when you wear your 955? Or do you wear it more where the 265 is in your video? I think I know the answer.

  • I would hazard a guess that Marcus is slightly out out by Garmin releasing the 965 so soon after the 955…

  • Thank you, I’m not sure Marcus would have found that.

  • Wow, this thread has descended into chaos. So, he’s unhappy with the 965 and prefers the 955. Cool, the end.
