Forerunner 965... A big mistake buying it.

Hello, after buying the 965 (4.19) I found a lot of issues that is making me regret of buying it.

- In the treadmill, I put a 265s with the 965, 265s was giving good heart rate reading compared with my Polar H10, but the 965 was really off... The video in the attachment

- In the pool, when I swim 50 mts, the 965 shows 100mts and I didn't find a way to correct this...

- The stress measure sometimes totally stops, I see -- instead of a measurement...

Seems the best of the best watches are the Apple ones with bad battery of course, but I have Android so no way to but the Apple.

After watching a Youtube video here:

https://youtu.be/dv5l3tVYl2o

I'm more upset of buying this thing... You need a Fitbit for tracking sleeping and for heart rate the Huawei.

This watch has bad bad hardware or the software is so buggy that Garmin should not be selling it... very very disappointed...

Today I tested during my cross training session: 955, 265s and H10, in HR peaks both 955 and 265s misses the measures but the 955 worked much better than the 965 I returned.

  • oday I tested during my cross training session: 955, 265s and H10, in HR peaks bot 955 and 265s misses the measures but the 955 worked much better than the 965 I returned.

Pretty sure you had a broken 965.

All the watches you mention have the same HR sensor.

  • Sorry to say, but the software problems is a common problem for all Garmin toys, from the cheapest to the most expensive device. The software developers are totally incompetent. Every Garmin come in a state of beta and remain like that the whole lifespan. For every bug they have luck with fixing they create at least 2-3 new bugs.

  • I think you have just had a bad experience, also watching the video you posted, it looks like the 965 is way too far down your wrist. The user guide states you should wear it above the bone in your wrist. It appears your watch is on the bone and not making proper connection with your skin. A better test would have to have worn it on the other wrist.

  • It really depends where on your arm you wear a watch, and even that is different from person to person. Also, the sensor is behaving differently when an activity is being tracked or not. Then for some of the other complaints about the screen not activating and having to tap the screen, never had this issue at all, so that is not normal for the 965. And then just something else, the need for HR data during a weight lifting workout? ROFL.

Jano22222 I agree with you, Garmin has issues in their developer department and even worse, they don't have a testing department and use the customers as beta testers

arcalius, I did every test you can imaging and the readings were bad, pretty bad.

Jordi, the problems are there, there is no much science to test if the watch wake up when you slightly move you wrist, there is another person that explains this issue in spanish very well in the case you are in bicicle https://youtu.be/UzbLjW5gD3E?t=912 So the issue is present for most of the people, your case maybe is different

Maruko, I never said is a hardware issue, this is a software issue, a bad developed software.

  • Look DC rainmaker is a reviewer that does very comprehensive testing, also for the 965 and his test doesn't confirm what you are claiming here. So either you got a bad unit or something else.
