Weather Widget on Watch Showing Wrong Location

It is not true that it takes the nearest weather station. In my opinion
it is a bug in the location update in the synchronization between phone and watch.
I am in Turin - Italy, takes a place in the mountains 200km away "Bric della Croce".
And it continues to take "Bric della Croce" even if I put a position in Argentina or Japan in the user settings for the weather.

Same thing happens to me right now. I bought my FR965 two weeks ago and I've tried all possible options. Nothing to do. The weather the watch provide belongs to a position far from where I live, nearly 100 km away. It's unacceptable that after six months Garmin has not fixed this issue.

after doing several other tests I saw that the field updates in certain cases. The workaound to get it updated is:
- change the position in user settings (in my case fixed positions, I did various tests in northern Italy)
- synchronize
- delete the view (glance) in the watch Glances list
- turn off the clock
- put back the view (glance) in the watch Glances list
- it remains "waiting for data" for 20 minutes, then - probably - puts the meteorological station closest to the point set.

in addition to the issue of the position update, the problem is also that you have to be very lucky to have a weather station nearby

I live in Castel di Sangro, Abruzzo. Up to three days ago, the weather widget located me in Campobasso (Molise) that is about 100km away from Castel di Sangro. Three days ago I went to San Giovanni Teatino (very close to Pescara) do do the annual check of my car, then I came back to Castel di Sangro. Since then, the weather widget locates the watch in San Giovanni Teatino. I'm going mad.

Iv just set up my new 955 in wales and also showing Sheffield as my location for weather. Did you get anywhere with resolving it ?

I have the same issue you are mentioning, in my case on a forerunner 255, now i even noticed that after one of the latest updates the option to change weather location to fixed position in user settimgs is disappeared in garmin connect.

Not that it helped much in the past because even by selecting a fixed location i would get the weather from places hundred of kilometers away (i live in Italy like other people posting in this thread).

This is an issue thats going on forever, and it happens to a lot of people as you can see here, on reddit and many other forums.

I can’t believe Garmin cant fix such an easy issue,  even free or 0.99 apps for iphone can display correct weather without issues, it’s not frigging rocket science, Garmin get your s**t togheter and pay for a decent weather provider with good coverage of Europe (which seems more affected by this issue).

Hi all, thanks  for all the information. I've tried out also all options so far but failed. The 965 showed the weather in Kassel (Germany) but I'm in Freiburg, Germany (approx. 500km distance). But the following action helped: I've used the "store position" directly and not in the weather widget (even using manuell allocation of Freiburg does not work). After a few seconds I had the right position, temperature and forecast on the 965. Hence, no need for any adjustments in the connect app. Cheers, Stefan
