Coming from Epix 2. Why you have to start first an activity to check the maps. why the watch cant trigger the gps after opening the map? really silly....

So, how you open the maps? Lets say you are inside and want to see the map, then you open from toolbox or via shortcut the map. When indoit like that, the watch tells me always to go first to an activity…
Open the list of activities ie Run, Walk, Map, Navigation and select Map...that's it, surely?

Can you explain my point as in not following, although did post before on similar issues
Mine searches for gps when I open Map, albeit much slower to get a gps fix oddly

There is an Activity called "Map".
It's actually not an Activity but it just opens the map, gets an GPS fix and You can zoom and scroll around.
What else do you want.?
Map without GPS fix does not make sense because the watch would not know what part of the map it has to show.
Thanks a lot for your answer. Maybe it was a mistake to compare epix 2 with this watch, since its a totally different sw base. I can live with that solution you and the others provided.
