Charging problems

Hi,

Yesterday I charged the watch with the original cable on an apple (18W) charger and after 1hour it had 25% more charge.I tried to reboot the watch but no change of charging speed. then i switched to my other usb-c charger which has a max of 60Watts and it still wouldn't go any faster. when i unplugged the charger the watch rebooted by itself. after that i tried another outlet (i think this one is a 15W port) and it worked fine.
Did anybody else encounter such a thing?

  • Doesn't really make sense in my case. If I unplug the cable from the charger (without moving the watch) and plug it into my mac it charges normal.... And when I charge it with a charger and it charges slow (like 10%/h ) the watch restarts after unplugging by itself.

  • I only charge it on pc or battery...what charger do you use ?

  • I tried different chargers. Various normal USB-A charger, the Iphone 18Watt charger and my macbook. so far the only thing that charges normal is the macbook for me. I also used my old FR945 cables. no difference there. really strange. I think after the summer I will contact garmin to replace it.

  • I'm alos found a problem like this and Itried to sawp the cable/charger it still same but I'll try to full reset SW. Thanks.

  • Brand new 965 and it won't charge. I've tired soft reset, hard reset, different plugs with no success. I'll probably take it back to REI and have it exchanged. Not the greatest experience after returning to Garmin after a 2 year hiatus with the Apple watches.

  • My watch also behaves very strange while charging. Usually it charges pretty fast. Suddenly at about 65% the charging speed drops heavily. After one more hour I have about 75%. That is the maximum. After unplugging the watch restarts. Sometime with a bit of luck I get 100% but the the battery drains very fast within the next 60min back to 75%. It seems a bit strange to me and I am wondering, if this is a software issue or hardware related. The watch is 2 weeks old by now.

  • I got a new watch and charging is fine.

  • everytime a new watch that is insane..every issue has to be a new watch..stupidity

  • No, not really stupidity. I realize that with ANY new purchase, there is a chance that it's a defective item. I've had more than 20 Garmin devices in my life and I can only think of one (the 910xt) that required replacements.

  • Yes, this is insane to change to a new watch and issues to come back, this is an expensive watch Garmin should test before

And now how many Garmin 965 have you exchanged >?
