Bugs on 965 touchscreen enabled for all (not working when you save the activity), ambient light sensor not so accurate, temperature sensor inaccurate

Hello,

I'm using the latest software 4.19 on 965 and few bugs to report here:

-touchscreen enabled for all all working fine until you reach the saving (not working when you save the activity) you still have to press phisical buttons to save maybe still need to activate something ?>

-ambient light sensor is working when bright light if bowse the watch it will not dimm until you wait some time this is not accurate we need fix asap, for ex like in our phones

-termperature sensor is this a joke ? you have to remove the watch every time and wait 20min why is the sensor even here ? a software will fix this

The temperature reading is not accurate
Your body temperature affects the temperature reading for the internal temperature sensor. To get the most
accurate temperature reading, you should remove the watch from your wrist and wait 20 to 30 minutes.

-sometimes the watch wakes up without wearing the watch for a couple of seconds..why it's a bug

-The schedule cannot be disable entirely---you have to specify a time you don't have this option full off...bug we need fix --even the sleep schedule sometimes does not go ON as it supposed to do-

-sometimes I found the forerunner 965 in power saving mode without any of the settings turned on or did by me - this need fo fixed it's a bug

-sometimes when I run, the watch goes to the other screen without any accidental touches

-the battery keep up only 16days without any vibration notifications all off, not wearing at night only 7 hours of gps/week, needs improvement

can you please report this bugs ?

  • there are a lot of bugs since 4.19...we need a fixes asap

  • Measuring water temp takes ages. with my epix gen 2 i had a reliable measutement after 3 to 5 min. What could be the problem?

  • You should somehow separate the problems that you encounter, this thread is quite confusing as there are so many things that "are bugs" and "need to be fixed asap" from your point of view.

I mean which parts do you consider as still open, because most of them have already been discussed.

Regarding the battery life, what do you expect?

16 days in Smartwatch mode with 7 hours of GPS per week sounds incredible to me:

The 16 days lead to 15.36 days of Smart watch only and exactly 15.36h of GPS activities

The 15.36h in GPS mode should have burned at least (if you used GPS only mode which leads to 31h of battery life)

49.5% battery, leaving 50.5% for 15.36 days in smart watch mode. This would lead to a max. battery life of 30.44 days in smart watch mode. Garmin specifies 21 days. You shouldn't complain but be happy about that.

  • The temp measurement difference is as expected, if you mean measuring the water temperature while on wrist. Epix has barometer hole on the side, Forerunners at the bottom.

  • this is not correct

since the GPS has 31 hours

When the watch is 100 % it says 25days so 15 days or 16 is not enough I saw many users complaining against the battery since update 4.19

    Have already specified the scenario

  • It IS correct. You wrote that it lasts 16 days with 7 hours GPS per week. The 23 days (or 25 days that your watch proclaims) are for smart watch only, without any activity. If you use the GPS mode for 15 hours, that's already nearly half of the battery (15 hours of 31). That leaves only the other half for smart watch use (23 / 2 = 11,5).

Just because others complain about battery life doesn't mean that yours is wrong, too. Please count again, you have the exact calculation in my prior post.

  • like I told you, the other smartwatch is supposed to get me to 20 days, since there is no usage on the night etc...

  • Where do you get these 20 days from? Battery life is not about feelings.

Once again, if I take your desired 20 days with 7 hours activities per week => 20 hours total.

20 hours of acitivities (GPS only) burn your battery down to about 35%. If you realy want to reach these 20 days with you watch turned of at night, you need to sleep 13,2 hous per day. Do you?

If you sleep 6,3 hours each day you should reach the 16 days with 16 hours of activity (using a calculation to your favor because the watch needs less battery at night but I don't know the difference).

If you're really sure your watch is supposed to last 20 days with 20 hours of activities, please tell us where you get these values from, or change the input parameters.

Beside that: do you really use GPS only or do you use the default settings with SatIQ? Just asking because this would burn even more. (than you had to sleep nearly 21 hours / day to reach 20 days of battery life ;)

  • As I told you already I don't use/wear the watch all day

I don't wear the when sleeping

    Gps - using default settings

Yes it should be 20days not 15-16
