Audio Prompts Switch to English After Restart – Forerunner 955

Hello,

I’m experiencing an issue with my Forerunner 955. After updating to firmware version 25.04 (released September 11, 2025), all audio prompts (pace, distance, lap alerts) switch to English even though my watch language is set to French.

Here’s what I’ve tried so far:

Changed my phone → problem persists

Soft reset (long press Light button) → no effect

Checked audio prompts language in settings → correctly set to French

This seems to be a firmware issue because changing phones did not help. The audio prompts only revert to English after restart or power cycle.

Has anyone else experienced this? Is there a fix, or a beta version that resolves this problem?

The issue is probably caused by the latest Connect app:

Same problem here. Sometimes it is English spoken with a German TTS, sometimes there are no audio prompts at all.

Same problem for me. It is English spoken with Polish Text To Speech engine. Sounds funny but it is annoying.

Yes, I experienced it yesterday. It used to be Dutch, and now it is English with a funny accent. Could not find a setting which is wrong, so it must be the software of Connect

I've the same problem since the new firmware 25.04

The FR955 send the message in english to Connect App and voice dialect is correct if I select English in text to voice setting of my smartphone (Samsung), otherwise it speach in English with accent select (in my case italian).

Furthermore since long time ago (previous fw updates) the selection of male female voice from connect app doesn't work, it can be selected and work only from the text to voice setting of the smartphone.
