Voice prompts not working, Garmin 965

Hi, I'm having a problem with audio prompts on my Garmin 965.i've updated to the latest Garmin connect mobile app and the latest watch software, and my audio prompts have stopped,. Most frustrating!RageRage

I've deleted and reinstalled Garmin connect mobile and also reinstalled the latest watch software, with no success. Is anybody else having problems? Thanks

  • Is anybody else having problems?

Yes, it happens on a latest 5.17 Version, rollback to 5.16.2 eliminates a bug.

  • Agreed. Not working on my Fenix 7, reverted to version 16, bingo fixed.  This very same problem happened with Connect when they did another major update, going from say version 14 to 15.  Not exactly sure of the version switch but Garmin will know about this same issue and hopefully fix it again so that any further updates for version 17 wont muck up the audio

  • Hello everyone, hello Garmin-Team

I have the same problem. Since version 5.17, the voice output in the training sessions no longer works correctly. I use an FR965 and a Pixel 7a with Android 16.

    Problem description:
    The language setting is German.
The voice is that of the German dialect.
However, English “text” is spoken with a German voice.

If I set the language to English dialect, it is spoken correctly in English.

    A temporary workaround is:
    - Uninstall version 5.17
    - Install version 5.16.2 (install via *.apk)
    - Disable automatic updates for this app in the App Store

    @ Garmin-Team:
I hope I have described the problem sufficiently. Please fix this as soon as possible.

I have also noticed another problem with version 5.17. The strength unit was started according to the training plan, but was not then counted as a training unit. It is only visible in my activities, but not in my training plan history.

  • I have the same problem, but I am not willing to revert to an older apk. Please fix that ASAP

  • I know when this same thing happened a couple of years ago, it was a few days before another version was released but even then it was a little while before they produced a stable version. But exactly the same scenario, they released a new full version update, going up a number and wrecked the program.  You would have thought they should have learnt their lesson last time.

  • Same problem, but with Dutch language. Now it is English with a funny Dutch accent. I look forward to the day an update is tested thoroughly before launching...

  • Your not wrong in what you say! Garmin seem to have a real problem in testing releases properly or they just see the customers as the software testers.

  • You hit the nail on the head there!!  Just look above your post at all the data they are collecting.  I will be sending in my invoice  .............
