Garmin Coach strength training plan not showing animations on watch

I just chatted with support and they tell me videos are not supported for those plans. I hope they intend to add them later.

Then your last chance is to manually edit any existing workout with animations and send it to watch.

I know this make a little sense but it is best you can do.

I can confirm that it used to work. I started a plan December 31st 2024 under the build muscle training plan and had the animations work flawlessly except for a few exercises like the overhead dumbbell press.  After one of the firmware updates. It no longer worked, but also did not work in the connect app where I used to be able to see the animations as well for the training plan. So I'm not sure whether it's watch firmware or connect app or a combination of both that has the problem, but neither one shows the animation anymore.

I have the same on my Venu3. When I did the mass plan for the first time, the animations worked. They didn't work on the second cycle. I think Garmin ruined it with one of the updates. Another thing is that this plan is poor, there are very few options for modification, adding exercises, etc.

But it worked in December and January.

Thanks for the confirmation. It makes sense that Garmin would intend to have animations for all Garmin Coach workouts. It's much less useful if I have to look up the exercises ahead of time and memorize them. Hopefully they will fix this.

Looks like Garmin want us to charge to have animations played in real time on connected phone while doing workout in the gym. Actually this might be nice feature as phone small screen can be casted on large TV. Let's wait how it will evolve.
