Zip file firmware 17.xx or 18.xx

does anyone has older firmware for 955 Solar? i'm getting frustrated fixing this OHR and ABC Sensor on 20.32 and 21.19 firmware, still not getting fixed.

I was wondering if i could fix this by downgrading the firmware.

yes i've tried everything such as reset total from settings, the reinstall software by clicking light button 8 times, plugging my watch to garmin express and connect, nothing happened.

please if anyone has the 17.xx or 18.xx firmware, let me know

  • Yes, and that's what makes me curious also. If the version of certain components is different, will it work the same as it used to with original 16.17? Or behavior will also change? We don't know at the moment.

21.19 kinda evoked high hopes in me. I was just about to sell my 955 and try Coros Pace Pro when it launched and I postponed that decision to see if it makes things better. As of yesterday, unfortunately, it did not. Forum is still full of OHR complaints and what pisses me the most - Garmin never even suggested any solutions! Just tell us - we *** up, we bring things to the stage where there were no such mistakes and will work on the software from there. But no, we are just promised to get resolution someday. Another firmware, forum topics closed, see if this version helps. This is ***. I paid for this watch working certain way, and I was quite happy and did not want to be a unofficial tester of the compatibility of different versions of firmware and other components. I do this because Garmin messed up my watch and I cannot rely on it any more.

  • If that weren't so sad, you'd have to laugh.
Customers who want to update to the latest version of individual sensors don't get it. Customers who want to downgrade don't get it either. Maybe Garmin should set up an exchange?!

  • FWIW, for me, FW19.18 was incredibly. sadly, when I updated to 21.19 several days ago, I didn't make any attempt to save what was on my watch in the even that I wanted to try to downgrade. I wasn't ware that this was a feasible possibility.

but I can vouch that FW is where I felt things were stable, battery life was excellent, and the feature set fit my needs and finally everything promised on the watch when I bought it (June '22) was delivered. (including having a glance that showed the actual solar insolation numbers)

  • Firmware v.20.21 Forerunner 955 Seriers

    Fr955_20.21

  • Thank you very much for the firmware!

  • Anyone has 20.32 firmware zip file? This is the latest version in 20.xx which seems stable for me.

  • Since Garmin does not solve the problems, especially the OHR problem, I downgraded. So far everything works fine. However, I can no longer install iq-Store applications. Is it possible to update the required module separately? Otherwise I would go without apps if the basic functions are working right.

  • Which version did you use?

My experiment didn't go too well. Spike in HR is still there:

    connect.garmin.com/.../17745957605

This is after 2km warm up btw. Indoor track.

  • Based on what you posted a few days ago, it seems only the main firmware was downgraded. The sensors and other subsystems didn't get downgraded. I don't know if there is a way to also force the sensors to downgrade, perhaps those who are technical and desperate enough might want to try changing things inside the manifest.xml within the gupdate.gsp file.
