last updates - bad joke :D

Garmin you ruined my last few weeks LOL

my stress calculation was high . sometimes too high ! i just got another 955 to compare values. and the offset is +20 ~ +50 . and yes it is verified. my 955 is counting it wrong.

and i got vo2max drop + unproductive status too.

i thought i was ill or overtrained as he.ll - but i am not haha

i was pretty scared about my condition. but it is f955's fault OMG !

please can anyone tell me how i can perform full factory reset ? i am not sure which option i should use.

or is it possible to downgrade sw ? if so, how ?

thanks for help.

Have a nice day !

  • and the problem is that 90% of time (i spent this evening with measurements) the offset is not +10 . it is more than +25.

Maybe stupid suggestion, but worth to try. Instead of doing measurements, try to leave watch for a week guessing your stress automatically. I have tried that manual thing long time ago and found meaningless to me.

At the same time Inside Training Readiness glance there is Stress History which produce such numbers for me:

I think this might be answer to your original question. As stress value is used to calculate your fitness, too frequent measurement can lead to unexpected results.

Imagine situation that you are sitting on the sofa taking your evening measurement and you see within minutes very different numbers. Obviously this will be taken into average calculation and mess up with your other metrics.

Simple example to prove it. Very often when I go to run, I am crossing roads where there is pedestrian Walk/Stop signal.

Believe or not, even without changing pace, it is absolutely flat surface my HR raise for few (sometime more than 10) bpm. And that will be impacting HRV too. Is this stress that suddenly I will be forced to stop instead or continue run? I do not know, but what you are trying to measure manually is (in my opinion) designed for people who do not move regularly.

Have a bit of trust in the SW on your watch. Stop fiddling with numbers. Observe results over week or longer period.

  • I find that stress (HRV) measurement is hugely affected by the tightness of the strap. Too tight and the HRV is badly affected.

For me the ideal tightness is to have it slightly loose, enough that you can put a single finger inside the strap comfortably.

Also, regularly wash the sensor window on the watch's back, rubbing it using the pad of a finger or thumb with some mild soap, rinsing and drying using a soft cloth (eg. cotton towel, not paper).
