last updates - bad joke :D

Garmin you ruined my last few weeks LOL

my stress calculation was high . sometimes too high ! i just got another 955 to compare values. and the offset is +20 ~ +50 . and yes it is verified. my 955 is counting it wrong.

and i got vo2max drop + unproductive status too.

i thought i was ill or overtrained as he.ll - but i am not haha

i was pretty scared about my condition. but it is f955's fault OMG !

please can anyone tell me how i can perform full factory reset ? i am not sure which option i should use.

or is it possible to downgrade sw ? if so, how ?

thanks for help.

Have a nice day !

  •

not best photo but you can see the difference @stress

  • How is the HRV reporting between the units?

  • hello and thank you for you interest.

    what i found out.

    hrv seems ok.

stress calculation is the problem - it randomly shoots up to high (sometimes very high) numbers for random duration - with no evident reason. mainly during the day. during the sleep stress values look normal (below ~20) . maybe there is a minor/few points deviation but no big spikes. so maybe it is somehow connected to heart rate.

maybe i am wrong but i think that other calculations are derived from stress variable. so these numbers are wrong too (body battery, sleep score, training status, performance condition, recovery time, vo2max)

i am not 100% sure but i think that first problems started after 20.26 update.

now i did all possible resets. but there is no change unfortunatelly - still wrong stress data. i hoped that master reset will restore default firmware. but no. it is 20.32.

    i see only 2 reasons:

it is hapenning because of firmware update. i did not find any way how to downgrade to 19.18 to test it out.

    or the sensor is broken.

  • Stress is calculated directly from HRV. So if the HRV readings between two watches are identical, they should be accurate (or at least consistent). If you start wearing a Garmin, it takes a while to learn your baseline (HRV at rest) and the HRV value when you experience high stress. Everything between those values then gets a value between 0 and 100.

Thus, you cannot compare readings from your watch that already knows which ones from another you just try on.

  • but how can i get hrv? i see only night hrv value. so it is not possible to get realtime hrv . or am i wrong ?

    >>  If you start wearing a Garmin, it takes a while .>> i wear this watch for almost one year. so this is irrelevant. i had no problem until september

    >> Thus, you cannot compare readings from your watch that already knows which ones from another you just try on. >> dont agree with this . and i think you are wrong.

it does not matter what you write. we are 2 persons with 2 identical watches (bought at same time). we can try these watches on 2 hands of 1 body . it does not matter who has the watches. my watch is always showing wrong stress score with offset +20 ~ +50

hope you can understand what i mean

  • Stress is calculated directly from HRV

i very much doubt it. i checked some of my health snapshots. and there is NO direct correlation between stress and hrv

  • can we accept this screenshot as proof ?

anyway . NO WAY i have stress at 40. i just cant have such a high stress at the moment. it should be around 15. or even less.

  • lets wrap it up. i have 2 watches. lets assume we do not know the exact configuration of each. it does not matter after all.

because stress value is a number. and there should be an offset between these values of 2 watches used on 1 body. and that offset should be a constant and be solid over time. yes there may be a minor deviation in measurement.

with many measurements i found out that offset of these 2 watches for me is between +5 to +60. average offset is +10. so i can say if one watch is showing stress value of 10 another watch should show 20.

and the problem is that 90% of time (i spent this evening with measurements) the offset is not +10 . it is more than +25. which means that my watch is wrong by at least  15 stress points. when i have stress 15 it shows 40. and i can exactly see when the value jumps to the wrong numbers. and when it finishes and goes back to normal (right) values .

    this is my problem.

anyway thank you.  you helped me a lot to create correct measurement and conclusion.
