All,
I'm very sorry if you are experiencing increased battery drain. Please see Tips to Extend the Battery Life on a Garmin Fitness Watch, and if the tips do not help please reach out to Garmin Product…
Yes, this is a known problem with the 20.xx firmware and we've been complaining about it throughout the beta phase.
Have to admit I’m not impressed with this answer from Garmin. Sorry for your battery drain but switch off lot’s of stuff that you bought the watch for in the first place to save battery. Not really the…
The full battery is 100%. The power-saving mode drops by 3% overnight. It only costs 1% before upgrading. Can the developer of garmin explain the reason?
Not at all sure, as now seeing 1%/hour after the update to 20.29. Did a restart just now to see if it would help.
Just walked the dog with my HR strap attached to test the update... Guess I'll see by the end of the day if it indeed is fixed. Hope the first reports here are indeed telling (apart from Bertil Dator, hopefull it's fixed after a restart for him as well... I usually manually restart after an update because I think I often noticfe larger drain after an update anyway)
*edit*
So far 1% after 4 hrs since the activity... First impression is hopeful
After updating:
10% less battery after 1hr run.
6% drain during sleep.
I’ll fully charge the watch today and see.
Similar behavior here, too.
After charging there was no improvement.
For me, personally, the battery consumption in Fitness tracker/smartwach mode seems to be back to normal.
I updated to 20.29 yesterday at 17:00.
After my run in the evening (with HRM Pro via ANT+), at 19:30 battery was at 72%
In the morning at 07:30 it was 71%
Now at 14:30 it shows 70%
So to me it seems fixed.
Lol, from drain to hardly depleting for you now ;)
But indeed, seems to be fixed. For me it's now 0.3-0.4%/hr it seems (phone always connected, notifications on and my personal custom watchface) where it was more towards 1% before...
Sure, based on only a few hours so far but still...
It seems to have solved the issue with me.
