All,
I'm very sorry if you are experiencing increased battery drain. Please see Tips to Extend the Battery Life on a Garmin Fitness Watch, and if the tips do not help please reach out to Garmin Product…
Yes, this is a known problem with the 20.xx firmware and we've been complaining about it throughout the beta phase.
Have to admit I’m not impressed with this answer from Garmin. Sorry for your battery drain but switch off lot’s of stuff that you bought the watch for in the first place to save battery. Not really the…
The full battery is 100%. The power-saving mode drops by 3% overnight. It only costs 1% before upgrading. Can the developer of garmin explain the reason?
Unfortunately, my optimism for the 20.29 has weakened. After charging to 100% 12 hours ago, now I have 93%, during this time only one activity without GPS, strength training 15 minutes.
I continue observing.

Thank you!
For me the 20.29 update seems to have fixed it, since the activity now 0.3% /hr (7% in 23 hrs) which is in line with the behaviour before (the watch is also almost 2.5 years old now).
Will do a run later this morning so that'll be the final test but so far so good.
Have to admit I’m not impressed with this answer from Garmin. Sorry for your battery drain but switch off lot’s of stuff that you bought the watch for in the first place to save battery. Not really the point.
Unfortunately, for me it's even worse than in the case of 20.26. battery drop by 11 percent for 16 hours without any activity, previously it was about 6 percent
Looks pretty good on 20.29. 6 hour hike yesterday (starting battery 97%) and this morning at 76%, would say pretťy normal.
Very arrogant answer from Garmin-Sierra). I've had support ticket open since Monday, and I haven't received any response.
Not in my case. I can't even follow how much I loose, more than 10% per day. I wanted to open another thread...but I will because I have other issues too. OHR for example. I just got back from run...but approximately lost 25-26% in 48 hours. This firmware is s... Turned off the watch couple of times (10 sec light button) - sync off, share off, BT off, WIFI off...everything off, no activity recorded.
Does anyone tested the difference in discharge between installed watchfaces? I can imagine that these could be a power draw aswell.
And once again, Garmin test procedures are really halfbaked. Probably ny hand and not automated. Every new release something else breaks.
I also can imagine that the MIPS ecosystem gets a smaller and smaller team of developers as they transition.
Does anyone know if the OS on the new amoled versions is the same in base? Hope for them they started fresh and didn't dragged al there old bugs in the new ecosystem. That would not be good news for us. Hope they get automated testing in order so they can do proper regression testing. They are losing customer trust this way. It's bizar that they even got this past the beta testing team.
Been using the same watchface since ages now...
But it seems it has improved indeed, I still get 10% a day which is a lot but that's with phone connected and messasges/notifications on, custom connectiq watchface and a 2+ year old watch. 0.4%/hr... at least much better then 0.8-1%/hr before the fix..
