Since 19.18 update I can't sync anymore Spotify or other music apps

As title says, I'm no more able to sync any music provider since last update.

Tried to uninstall and reinstall, deleted every playlist I had on my watch but the synchronization is very slow and gets stuck at ~5%.

Many feedbacks on Spotify's Connect IQ page are reporting my same problem but I can't find anything on here or any solution. 

Is anyone on my same boat?

  • Support created a ticket for the development team based on my input.

    Meanwhile i got a new mobile phone. I set it up as usual. After syncing my 955 Solar with the phone i tried to sync my Spotify playlists and it worked. Was a bit slower than usual, but it worked.

    Maybe they changed something or my mobile phone switch did something magical. 

  • Over 2 weeks without working Spotify Sync for me. Thanks Garmin! 

    And this with a watch for over 500€

  • Same issue here, I already contacted Garmin support a few days ago but have not heard back yet. The workarounds/solutions did not work for me :/

  • Support offered me a new Forerunner, but i'm not sure whether it's solving the problem and then by coincidence i found something:

    1. First i tried to sync over a portable router (GLiNet). It worked. I got curious
    2. I tried to change some settings on my home router: I changed the 2,4Ghz network from Wifi 4 to Wifi 3. Now syncing works. 

    I'm don't know whether i should accept the new device... as you know already: New Garmin, new Problems. 

  • Former Memberthanks for the tip on changing the network from WiFi 4 to 3, that did indeed work and fixed music sync for me!

  • I managed to get it work again by switching (downgrading) my Wi-Fi router’s security to WPA personal + TKIP. 

  • Experiencing the same issue with my Forerunner 955 Solar when connected to my home WiFi. Then began to pair my mobile hotspot as the WiFi network and it seemed to do the job and synced my Spotify playlists with no issues to the watch.

  • Spotify removed via Garmin Express(Windows). Then deleted all wifi connections on the Garmin. Opened a mobile hotspot with my cell phone and connected this wifi to the Garmin. Now I could finally download the Spotify playlists on the Garmin again and synchronize them completely!
