Since 19.18 update I can't sync anymore Spotify or other music apps

As title says, I'm no more able to sync any music provider since last update.

Tried to uninstall and reinstall, deleted every playlist I had on my watch but the synchronization is very slow and gets stuck at ~5%.

Many feedbacks on Spotify's Connect IQ page are reporting my same problem but I can't find anything on here or any solution. 

Is anyone on my same boat?

  • I am in the same boat on FR955 with version 19.18. I can no longer play any music at all after the update. It would be nice if garmin would send an update on this

  • Same here. I think it began with FW 19.18. Can't download any playlists anymore. Sometimes it loads one track and then stops with error message "Sync failed". Most of the times it stays at 0% forever. I did a full factory reset. Didn't help.

    I opened a support ticket. No answer yet. 

  • also Playrun has the same issue. After sync gets launched, download completion stays at 1% until the "sync failed " notification.

    same problem here. I also managed to get to 55% once, but then couldn't go any further.
    GARMIN should urgently do something about this.(FR 955 / 19.18)

  • Problem solved.
    After I realized that with each sync attempt it went about 1-2% further, I then needed about 20 attempts to complete the sync process.
    So I restarted the watch and synced again and again.

    I hope Sierra will read this cause it is all about the last update, my partner has a Venu 2s and syncs without a single issue.

  • Has anyone heard anything from Garmin? I am unable to play any music on spotify for the past week. This is a big part of the reason I (and many others) got this device. I should have turned off automatic updates a long time ago to avoid these issues - lesson learned

    Thank you for sharing. It seems like there are a couple of different issues happening in this thread (syncs getting stuck, seeing a "sync failed" message, music no longer being played). Please follow the troubleshooting steps listed in I Am Having Issues with Spotify on My Garmin Watch

    Additionally, 

    • Test and see if the watch can sync an activity over to the Connect account through the Wi-Fi network that is currently set up

    • Try connecting the device to a different Wi-Fi network

    • Try plugging in the device to a wall outlet near the router AFTER the watch shows it is syncing (at 0%).
