FR 955 The ski profile has broken

This winter, something bad happened to the ski profile on my Forerunner 955. Last year, it recorded activity correctly (apart from the known problem of not marking the chairlift entries to the peak). This year it practically stopped recording anything. During the first activity, it recorded only the first descent, then the track broke off. Later, the watch did not record time or distance, even though auto pause was turned off. The second time, it didn't register anything at all, only the first second after turning on the activity.
Anyone had such a problem? I reset the ski profile, but I don't know if it's enough, I don't want to lose any further activities. Maybe someone who has this profile working properly could send it to me as a file.

  • I have really been struggling with mine too! A couple of sessions did not record anything at all… and my last few sessions have been recording the lifts and runs all as runs. The speed has also been really off! I swear it was working perfectly fine a month ago, but more recently it has been really poor. I haven’t changed any settings in-between! 

  • Same here. Worked ok last season (March 2023). Now, nothing. FR955 became useless (AKA expensive junk) in this regard.

  • Wondering why .. After complaining today, it worked during today's activity. Done nothing, meaning started the app like any other app. Go figure

  • Exactly the same issue with the 17.26, I'm really sad and disappointed about this regression because last year was working correctly. We skied a full day with rhe result of 150 m recorded. My son had an application on his phone and that recorded 41.5 km and notonly 150 m !

  • 2nd try and still working ok now. Something I did before was to delete the module and adding it again. Maybe this helped to cure it? Give it a try.

  • Do you mean the Remove app option? I did it, but haven't had a chance to test it yet. But I doubt it will solve the problem because it only removes the application from the menu, and after adding the application again, even the settings and data screens are the same. I don't think it's possible to completely remove this app and reinstall it. I at least reset it, maybe it will help.

  • Yes, that's what I did, remove the app. Once through the FR955 menu and once while connected via cable. I know it cannot be removed entirely but maybe this helps to release some blocking. At least, it seems to have helped solving my problem with it. Will give it another try today and report back.

  • Reporting back: Works as advertised, I'd say. Correct tracking. You "feel" that it's working when sitting on the chairlift and there's a short vibration when going uphill.

    So, the solution for me was: Remove the app and add it again. I did not change anything to the settings. It's on autostart.

  • I am having the same issue, mine will autopause as soon as I start the activity and will not start an activity.  I did 10 runs and it only managed to record 1.

  • Did this happen after removing and adding the app, as described above?
