Hearth rate false data after 1 year of use

after about 1 yesr of use my Garmin Forerunner 955 show problem on hearth rate giving false datas either way in slow runs or tempo.

I noticed that if I clean the sensor or remove the sweat it goes back to normal for a bit.

  • Are you sure you are not encountering the same software issue, we all are suffering from here?

    High Heart Rate thread

  • some people have same problem on 955 and 255 from version 16.19

  • I tested the BETA 17.22 and also today 17.23 and the problem is cured. The Hearth rate works fine on any conditions intevals, uphills, downhills, slow runs. Just wear the watch not exaclty the bone wrist but 1-2 cm away. Of course GARMIN shall do the update now on regular firmware as 16.17 had for sure problems. So problem is cured only on Beta

  • Ive got a 255 and have exactly the same issue on 16.19 and 17.24 (not previously).
Base runs show on the stats as Zone 2, get logged as Tempo (but pace suggests theyre tempo in reality).
Zone 1 runs show as base (and pace suggests correct),

The HR displayed appears to low but somehow internally its using a different value to calculate training.
