Is there a different software version for garmin forerunner 955 in US and other regions like Europe?

Hello everyone, I'm new to this forum. I bought forerunner 955 10 days ago and I can't download the latest software. The current software of my watch is v.12.29 and when I try garmin express it says you're up do date. I also tried enrolling the beta version but with no success, it doesn't appear on the watch to download. I know this is well known problem and others have posted about this. I went at the garmin store where I bought the watch and after explaining the problem to them, they said that my watch is for Europe region and not US, and that 12.29 is the latest version. Is this even true, I mean is there any difference between software versions of watches in US and Europe? I couldn't find the answer elsewhere

No, the firmware version is universal except for Asia. So they were lying to you in the store.

You should tag Garmin Sierra in the post I linked to.

In the past I know Garmin released firmware that was regional. I could not use US firmware on my Taiwan bought Forerunner. However, I'm not sure but…

Absolutely not. The firmware in the FR955 is the same throughout the world.

Yes, I know. I've read this post. The question I have is what I said in the end. Does garmin release software updates which are universal and independent of your region? Or is there any difference? Because that's what I was told and I want to confirm if this is true.

Have you tried going to Garmin.com, which should automatically redirect you to the appropriate regional site, and then viewing the latest firmware revision and release notes? If you go to the 955, there should be a tab for software/updates where you can see such information.

Auto update on your watch enabled?

It was till model fr935. Now it is enough RAM on every new watch to run 2 byte fonts. So the separated apac and row fw are now history, AFAIK.

Yes I figured that out somehow. I turned to garmin support center for help, and due to some miracle my watch updated to the latest version (15.19) through garmin express. I didn't even bother to confront the guys in the store

Hello. Some time ago I bought watch that did not have Czech language and I was told by Garmin I need to buy from distribution for Czech country only. Are you saying that now all watches except for apac have Czech language?

I have an APAC 955 (Taiwan) and it has čeština (Czech ??) language as an option. I'm running firmware 17.26.
