Who owned both models, tell me how strong is the difference in battery discharge in practice?

As I said before its more or less the same.
Do check the GPS mode on both watches. Me and my wife use "GPS only" and with a course file loaded, the burn rate is very close
Yes, always.
Back in January, I opened a thread here where I,ve been sharing my particular experience.
Give it a read if you are interested.

I have a 955 and my wife has a 255S....its surprising for me that there is practically no difference in battery life. When we do a day-long activity, our battery percentages at start and end are very close, hardly any difference.
I think it's because the bigger screen on the 955 takes more CPU power to render (we use gpx course files to navigate)
I got 955 because I play Golf. Here are some other things which I find useful on 955:
1) Improved navigation features with directional arrows on the course line.
2) Climb Pro datascreen which is nice to have on longer hill/mountain trails (if you use navigation)
3) Better backlight with deeper blacks and colors. During daylight the displays are the same, only indoors its different. 955 also has anti reflective glass. (The screen quality on 255 is the same as my 935 which was fine too)
4) Slightly improved button feel but not much different from 255. Buttons on Fenix and Tactix are completely different.
5) Maps and Touchscreen I don't really use.
I have the 955 Solar and my wife a 255 Music. We live in less-sunny Copenhagen, Denmark. And I must say: my 955 is eons better than my wife’s 255. I can easily go 14-18 days with some 60-minute runs every-every other day. With the same usage, I’d say my wife gets a week. Tops.
So inclined to believe it’s her unit that’s semi-broken, since all of you say it’s a deadlock between the two? :-/
