Garmin Wallet

For the last 6 months - the Garmin Wallet has worked fine. Unfortunately, whilst at a supermarket checkout today, it suddenly went into sync mode ... and it's been struck there ever since. My question is - is the Garmin Wallet untrustworthy? and secondly, how do I fix it?

  • This happened to me for the first time last week. I stopped at a store in the middle of a run, set "resume later", then tried to pay for my purchased. The watch got stuck in "Syncing wallet" then, and every time in the last couple days that I've tried again.

EDIT: I tried rebooting my watch again, and this time it's working. Don't know how long it will stay working, though, based on other people's comments above...

  • You can clear each ''syncing wallet'' problem immediately by restarting (power off and on) your watch. But the process takes too long for me: I used to use the watch to tap on and tap off the bus in Singapore.. can't expect the bus to wait for me when it goes into syncing wallet mode when I want to get off :(...

  • Turning the watch off and on is not an option when you make a purchase while recording activity, e.g. during a long run or bike ride. You never know when a payment will get stuck on wallet sync. For me, Garmin Pay is not reliable form of payment. It's a shame that Garmin doesn't see this as a problem at all. They don't do anything about it, and the reports are increasing.
