Heart rate issues on fw 14.15

after updating to firmware 14.15 I have had multiple multiple bugs with my heart rate during workouts. This started after 14.13, but continued in 14.15 and got worse. In 14.13, and beyond the issues started with my heart rate being low on treadmill run activities. At a piece of around 7 1/2 minutes from mile. My heart rate should be around 150 to 155. On these firmware’s, it was in the 140s. It also takes over 5 minutes to get to that 140 range. Today in a tempo run activity after 15 minutes at that pace. I sped up to around 5:45 minutes per mile. My heart rate stayed in the 150 range for the entire time until around 15 out of 20 minutes. It should be in the 170 range at that pace. This bug messed up my recovery time, training, load, training, suggestions, and almost everything related to heart rate.

  • Same issue, but not only during workouts, in addition I have bugs with compass, stress level, and sleep score

  • Yes, I am having this issue with my HRM especially during sleep and noticed that it goes off at specific points in time therefore affecting things like stress HRV, sleep score, etc.  I've actually seen the optical sensor turning off in situations around bedtime when I am not moving much.  It comes back on once I start moving my hand.

I just got a replacement yesterday because Support suggested that it could be a hardware issue but this problem still happens on my new watch.  Really disappointed with my FR955 as there are so many bugs.  Never had any issues with my previous 935, 945 and Fenix 5

    BAD PRODUCT

  • What are you using for capturing your hr? Strap, watch, etc?

When I run on a treadmill my hr is down a good few beats compared to out on the road.

not to say there isn’t an issue

  • I’m using build in optical heart rate. This issue just started. On 14.xx

  • Same here. I use hrm pro chest strap. With watch optical sensor my hr is rather stable and believable but numbers hrm pro shows me are lot of the time totally wrong. -20bpm or even more.

  • Hello again, this is my activity this afternoon. The first 2 series with DUAL BAND (TOTAL CHAOS), as you can see, the pulse is uncontrollable. The last 2 with the OPTICAL sensor of the FR 955 (SFW 14.15) are if they could be controlled and run the training. Could it be the band? or the software (14.15) does not provide us with a reliable connection to external sensors?

  • Same issue since 14.xx release.

At the begin of my activities my HR don't work properly.

After few time, it seems works.

On same track, usually i'm around 170 bpm, now I stay around 90 bpm !!

  • Just an update. Having this outside now too. A trial run in late January was averaging high 160-170 hr, but an INCREADIVLY SIMILAR run in route, pace etc was 150-160s. Marked as base although it was a hard trail run

  • If you think that the values from the OHR do not fit you, I recommend trying an application that compares the OHR vs. Chest belt

  • I noticed the same thing today during a 2h indoor bike ride. My heart rate was ”stuck” on the same heart rate for several minutes, which easily can be seen in the picture below. I did the exact same workout last week (on erg mode so i mean exactly the same) and one can easily see a huge difference in heart rate. Last week I was on FW 14.13, today FW 14.15. This is not good at all garmin, it messes up everything…

The heart rate comes from a Wahoo tickr heart rate monitor which I’ve been using for all my workouts for the past years without any problems.

    Heartrate from today’s workout
From today’s workout on FW 14.15.

Same workout last week on FW 14.12
The exact same workout from last week on FW 14.13.

Please Garmin, this is a huge bug and should be looked in to asap!
