This has been resolved in sw version 14.17. If you are still experiencing this after the update, please start a new thread.
Please disregard my (now deleted) post recommending a master reset. We are currently testing other workarounds.

As a workaround for now, please attach your watch to a desktop or laptop computer where you can see the watch as a removable drive. In the Garmin folder of your watch, you will need to delete the "Intervals" subfolder. You will find this by following the path below:
GARMIN>Workouts>Intervals
