I know this, like many product forums, will have lots of posts regarding problems with the product. Is the 955 that buggy? I have a 935 and don’t recall any major issues. But it might be just my use cases to reveal bugs.

I've had the 955 since launch and I'm loving it. Can't say I recognize any of the bugs that everyone has been talking about.. I run 7 days a week with GPS, external HR sensor and Stryd foot pod attached…
Yes, i am starting to regret my purchase decision. Even the cheapest Huawei, Xiaomi watches surpass Garmin Forerunner 955 in terms of operating system quality.
1) GPS acquisation problems. The watch generally…
I too am concerned about this. At the moment I am holding off buying a 955 because of the many bugs I see on these forums.
And especially because what matters most to me is the battery issue, and I see…
I have had the 955 since launch. I experienced a few bugs initially but nothing since September, but that may vary depending on your use case.
I am not having any of the issues Abraxas mentions or with swimming activities. Body battery and stress is reflective on how I feel, and my battery life is about a week with daily workouts and music. I am happy with my purchase.
bottom line its like throwing ur money in a roulette, u wanna buy a sports smartwatch ok?, and u wanna spend more than the casual user, do u give 600-650€ for this (premium - top of the line) running watch? with all these issues u might have or might not?...I SAY NOT!, not ever again, this is a watch that supposed to be something u can count on, something that it should justify those years it took to be released apart from its ancestor, they ask u to pay this much and it seems they put 0 effort in software Development or on hardware checks before release, its all a damn hustle, just give us ur money (they say) on something revised with a new case - design, couple of features we are not sure they are working just right...(we can release 3-4 updates later on and see if they will work) its a joke really, all they need to do is pay-gift a few ppl on youtube - instagram to promote the watch and pretty much we have a new lineup for sale!
I got mine at launch. YES, I was disappointed with all the issues for the first several months. Cadence and all the training metrics were broken for months. I actually would use my older 245 instead because it was so solid.
However, I agree with most that it finally feels as finished as it should have closer to launch. I love the GPS accuracy. And I’m getting about 9 days between charges with around 6-8 hours of full-burn GPS activities.
What you always find is that it's the people who have encountered problems who make the most noise. Those who don't come across those problems tend not to talk much.
There are some definite faults in some aspects of the watch. As a running watch used on its own (no accessories) it works very well.
It has some problems when interacting with some accessories (eg. Bluetooth headphones, third party sensors), and with use with other sports. Some faults are minor... unless you happen to rely on that function.
I've had the 955 since launch. There was one point in mid August where a core function (cadence) was broken. That took too long to fix. Apart from that, I haven't been bothered by the bugs. Others have different usage patterns and hence different opinions.
Yeap it's noise when you have an opinion different from others. Also random reboots and eventual death of a watch is not a usage pattern it's clear that there's a number of units that's defective. Lastly it's not like people are going around to open threads of complains, he asked and we answer and I sure hoped I asked before I bought it.

Similarly, I charge my 955 when I would normally take it off anyway, for a bath or shower. That 10-20 minutes is usually enough to increase the charge by 10-25%. Sometimes that's even enough to charge it to full.
I also use the watch for activities 7 days a week with GPS (multiband), external HR, RD and Tempe sensors. I have pulse ox turned on for sleep. I don't use it for audio as I prefer to use the podcast app on my phone.
