FW12.27: Eternal Sync/battery drain bug still there

Hi,

unfortunately the bug reported in https://forums.garmin.com/sports-fitness/running-multisport/f/forerunner-955-series/306973/forerunner-955-fw12-23---very-serious-eternal-sync-bug---rapid-battery-drain is still present on FW12.27.

This afternoon the watch started syncing every 30 seconds again. Battery drain is now >3% per hour, losing about 20% total charge in an afternoon.

Actually BT doesn't drain much battery juice.

I feel for the convenience and battery trade off, its worthwhile to let my BT on 24/7.

Turning off the bluetooth connection does work but it's extremely cumbersome of course, and you lose a lot of functionality like this. But it reinforces what I said, i.e. the battery drain is definitely due to the constant syncing.

It doesn't drain much when it's not in constant use. If I don't have this bug, my watch drains 0.3%/h with BT on. If I have this bug, it's about 3%/h, so 10 times more. I obviously prefer to keep BT on and have 0.3%, as was the case with 11.12.

Even . 3% per hour sounds a bit much.

I think 0.3-05% per hour is about right for me.

BT = 24/7

spo2 = night

wifi = off

Think it's something about your setup? What phone? What sensors?

Charged to 100% over 24 hours ago. No exercise but connected to phone constantly and replied to the odd text from the watch. At 99%
