My Forerunner 955 isn't auto syncing with the Garmin Connect app after activity. (Start happening after 12,23 update)

I have the same issue. Power cycling the watch helps. But even the power cycle is strange. After pressing the buttons nothing is on the display for a while. Eventually the watch comes up, then syncs and activity is visible in Connect.

All this strangeness started with the 12.23 update.

Had to restart to get a sync to happen.

Just realized, it happens to me only when it's a swimming training.

Same issue started 2 days ago. The watch is on 12.27. It only syncs steps, HR. No activities on any kind. When I manually sync from the watch it get stuck with "Transfer in Progress message" and nothing happens. I tried reinstalling the app same result. When I use Garmin Express it shows an error message: There was an error connecting with Garmin Connect. I'm wondering if this is a watch issue or an app problem. Any suggestion how to solve the problem?

WiFi sync seems to work for me - uploads swims - as a workaround, but I have to manually initiate that when I get home.

How do you sync over Wifi? On the manual is described like forcing sync from the watch and selecting sync with wifi. If I do that nothing is synced.

Your watch needs to be configured on your WiFi network. Sync from watch: light button hold, sync, swipe up for WiFi.

@Marc Thanks I was able to start the sync over wifi. The watch gave a message 'transfer in progress'. When it was done I checked the Connect app and nothing was synced to it. Not sure what to do next.
